Replacing a headlight washer
Hi- I have just gotten a 911 SC and one of the small jobs i need to do is to replace the left headlight washer. Is it possible without pulling the bumper off the car? I am thinking that there might just be enough clearance if I pull the running light and the turn signal off.
Has anyone been able to get the job done without pulling the bumper? Thanks |
You can do it by removing just the turnsignal and side marker.
You will need to lift the front of the car and reach up under the backside of the bumper. The light housings are held on by two 8mm lock nuts. A 1/4 inch driver and or ratcheting box wrench are great. There are also flat washers so don't drop them. The lights will push out the front. You can then unsnap the washer hose and unscrew the plastic nut holding in the washer. Good luck with your project! Cooper |
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I will try it out tomorrow!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif |
Good luck with the tight working space in the bumper. Here are some pictures I took during removal of my front bumper (82SC). They may help you a bit. The tubing to the headlight washer jets is black plastic and is pretty stiff, so be patient.
