Should I even Consider a 2002 C4S

saw a 2002 C4S at a local carmax.
45k mi, $31k.

Grey with red interior.

Should I even consider this thing?
My '89 Targa just isn't a DD in the Texas heat/humidity.

thanks.

BS. That will buy you a very nice 993 these days which has very good a/c and will hold its value much better. That waterpumper will be 12k in 5 years. The issue is that they are a dime a dozen.

We have had one for about 4 years now with no problems. They are a blast to drive, but totally different in character than the 911SC. I have not driven a 993, but expect it is more like the SC than 996 in feel. All that said, I am happy we have it in the stable.

I loved my '02 C4S. I sold it last year because I had the chance to buy an '04 GT3 an didn't want to miss out. Water pump or not, it's a great car and--in my opinion--the best looking of the Type 996.

2002 is the sweetspot year with the 3.6 engine upgrade BUT don't get AWD unless you need it. ;) Car Max has the most liberal test drive policy I know of. :D

Get a 993 instead. It will be worth much more in five years and it is just as fun to drive.
