1973 Black "S" Bumperetts
My 73 911T came with the "S" options and I have a set of these black bumperetts. I currently have body colored bumperetts on the car. The finish on my original black ones is brittle, cracked and chipped. I have learned ( via this BBS ) that this original finish is a type of 1973 German vintage powder coating. So, now, these originals are at a local sandblasters having the old coating removed. I'm planning on having them re-powder coated but i'm un sure as to the correct finish? semi gloss - enamel black - flat ??

RSTarga: All the 73.5's (CIS) I've seen have the rubber bumperettes you speak of. My 73 is early 73 MFI car and had these steel bumperettes, the "S" optioned cars had these black powder coated ones no matter what the car color was..........or that is what i think.
I have been wrong, maybe a few times. Steve 73 911T MFI Coupe, Aubergine |
