Previous owner of the car was a moron.
My car had originally fuel injection and it was replaced with webers, and while I have had it, it has never run very well. So basically there were seven, yes 7 (!) filters along the cars fuel lines: One in the tank (the net), Fuel injection filter after the tank (aluminium), 2 plastic filters before the fuel pump, one after it, and 2 in the engine compartment, one for each carburetor banks No wonder the car did not get enough juice...Talk about stupidity... //Zen |

Yeah but I'll bet those carbs are still shiny inside. Kinda like using Perrier in your coffee machine!

Zendelar, you also may have one additional filter element if you have a Bosch fuel pump that goes with the carb. setup...... and that is a porous filter element in the bottom of the fuel pump housing, which can get clogged and cause poor fuel flow.

Nope, I had to clean the carbs twice to get them clean, since the car had been standing 3 years the goo (gasoline) had gone bad inside and it/water had cause lotsa corrosion...wish they were clean... |
