Hello Oistein,
The photo you've posted above is mine. The Porsche parts system might still have this tool, so give your local car dealer the following order number: 000.721.386.00. If it is no longer available from Porsche, try FREISINGER MOTORSPORT - Porsche: Historische Rennwagen, Restauration, Tuning, Fahrzeuge & Teile in Germany. Good luck. ![]()

If you just need to remove the seal, then you can use two sheet metal screws. Just fit them and connect them using wire. Now you can pull the seal out

You can try that, let us know if it works. The seal is deep into the guide tube, and with the clutch shaft there is not much room. Don't scratch the shaft or outer bore with the screws. The oil seal has a steel shell, of course.
By the way, this all applies only to 915 transmissions from mid-'73 through 1975. Before removing the seal, measure its depth in the tube, so to install the replacement the same. You can also drive the seal into the transmission, then remove the differential and cut it off the shaft. But don't leave the seal inside, it will be eaten by the ring gear.

That first picture looks like it's a 901 transmission.
I got my 915 guide tube out by removing the sheet metal screws, then turning the guide tube 90 degrees, so I could pry the "ears" of the guide tube using the case webbing to pry against. The guide tube itself was destroyed, but I had a new one, along with new oil seal and o-ring ready to install. I also used a bit of heat. |

The gearbox is a 1975 ,5 gear , 915/40 I will try two sheet metal screws, and connect them using a wire . I,ll let you know how it went.
