What's this H1 ring color on a stock SC?

The inner plastic rings around my H1s look lousy...oxidized out so they're a dirty creamy grey. I'm always looking at other pics but cant tell what the original color was? Anyone know the original color of the plastic ring...see arrow in the pic below. I want to repaint these while I save my pennies for eventual H4s.

Thanks.

Those are generally not painted. They look right. Some are grey, some are kind of beige.

And As far as I see, those aren't h1s... They are either sealed beams or h4s. The easiest way to tell is if the outer glass has three "nipples" that would be used to align the headlights.

I bought a replacement set and they are a shiny light grey.

BTW, they are sitting on a shelf. I painted the original rings (after repairing them) satin black. They now look like they should have been.

Thanks all...so the original color is glossy grey? Can someone please post a picture for color matching purposes. Thanks.

I'm hijacking this thread, so please forgive me. My headlights have the three nipples. Does this indicate sealed beams or H4 heeadlights?

Sealed Beams are DOT approved, and have the three nipples for alignment tools

As far as I know, the only lights that have the nipples are Sealed Beams and the later H5's that were on later Carreras (mid 80's).

If you have lights like the pic, if they are H4, they will have H4 (and/or E4) somewhere on the lens. Won't have nipples, either.

'Euro' H4's and and all H1's look different than the lights in the pic, and look identical from a few feet away. They don't have the plastic trim pieces on the bottom. The H5's look like them also, but have the little nips.

Sealed beam it is. Thanks guys.

Every dot approved headlight on every car through the 80's and I think in to the early to mid 90s have the three nipples.

It was only after the government changed the laws to allow projector lights did they allow (finally) for headlights to start being something other than a square, rectangle, or circle.

They were REALLY strict on what shape headlights could be, especially in the 80s.
