New sport seats back very happy!
I just got my Sport seats back attempted to differentiate with kind of a Porsche 917 Porsche tribute idea. I used vinyl on backs, tops are the best black vinyl really about the same price as leather and suede inserts.
The accent colors are Dark Blue, Sky/Slate Blue, and Bright Orange which were used on the 917. A little flair and the seats really hold me in with the suede. : ![]() ![]() I thought this was probably the best choice on a silver car withoutout tying me into piping colors or anything loud. Silver car and all I can say with the power height/tilt adjustment only on the driver seat I am really able to dial in my ideal seating position with hands and legs. My m3 has a similiar tilt adjustment which prevents back fatigue by supporting myr thighs. Lastly, no other power adjustments to add weight.
Cost was $1,000.00 for some custom bolster work as i wanted to sink in them and fit like a glove, plus new covering. Last edited by nixtfy; 05-11-2011 at 09:52 PM.. |

Look great... they are NOT sport seats, though. Last edited by tcar; 01-17-2011 at 11:11 AM.. |

Sport Seats?
Actuallly hard to tell in pics. but they built the bolsters up quite a bit top and bottom; neither is flat. The build on the bottom is all the way front to back, not like on the sport seats where it's mostly accented in the middle of the bolster. Why I mentioned you sink and are held in the chair. This may help show better?

Beautiful! Can you share details on who did it, process, and cost?

Very nice! I've thought about the suede insert idea myself. What do you think it would run just to do the suede centers?

Raul's upholstery in Denver. He shaped the foam on the seats to where it just felt like it was hugging me. I am 6' 180lbs. the bolsters depth is top and bottom is 4" and tapers to 2" on the front of seat.
Cost for suede inserts I would guess is $300.00 |

While not actual "sport seats", they do look pretty sporty with the enlarged bolsters - certainly more than the comfort seats.
You can see the comparison between yours and factory sports. Yours look darn good, and if comfortable and hold you still, then that's all the important stuff, right? ![]()
