Finally......Kermie (3.6 RS Vram) hits the tarmac

Almost 1 year since I embarked on this long voyage....

Previously: 3.6 Vram dyno run - Kermie's new engine

Car is finally getting there.
Thanks to TRE Motorsports, Kundensport, Rothsport and Gordon Ledbedder.
Although there will be a lot of tweeking and adjustments made over the coming winter.

3.6 RS Vram motor installed.
915 Euro gearbox with ext cooler, custom WEVO bearing retainers & spray bar, SCRS gearing, Guard ZF LSD.
930 brakes front/rear.
JRZ ext reservoir double adjustable shocks, 23/33 torsion bars, Smart Racing anti sway bars, Elephant Racing bushings.
Turbo/RSR body work installed.
New interior: Scheel seats from Germany, WEVO tall shifter, custom gauges by North Hollywood Speedo with LED backlight, Herwins rally clocks, new headliner, lightwt carpeting, Safety Devices roll bar, RSR warning lights.
All kinds of goodies and fun stuff.

The motor is incredibly strong.
Approaching rocket sled status I believe.
Makes the old 3.2 seem like a Honda!
Still working on some different wheel/tire packages.
Track day next week....can't wait.
Anyway....
The final pics.

Doug,
What did you do with your 3.2? I'm looking for a sound 3.2 for my SC.

Street tires and 300hp in an old 911, sounds like fun. If it is anything like my 2400lb 993 at an AX, you will get to enjoy smoky lurid opposite lock drifting action So very fun but not all that fast and kinda tough on the tire bill. My last set of rear tires lasted 24 AX runs

Hope so.
Auto-x this weekend.
Track day the following week.
Good way to break it in.

Thanks Randy.
Will do.
Gamroth took me for a "performance" run around the neighborhood at his shop in my car today.
Car moves out pretty good I'd say.

Amazing amount of power & torque.

Doug -- looks like you've upgraded Kermie very nicely, not only awesome power, but superior bodywork and very nice interior details. I especially like the "RSR" tach. I need to increase my lottery ticket purchasing --- gotta get mine upgraded.

Crap. I used to like that my 3.2 powered '73 was so similar in performance to Kermie, one of my all-time favorite competitors on the autocross course.

Wil:
I had found mine of all places on eBay a couple years ago.
Don't see them much any more.

You can try this site, and look under interior lights for some as well:
Autochron - specialists in historic race and rally timing and navigational equipment.

Pegasus racing too:

Thx....
Go here for the RSR tach.
And look at the white one....I got mine done in black obviously.
They aren't "incredibly" expensive.

Wasn't so sure I was that happy with the power output of the car since picking it up.
In all honesty.....been babying it pretty much.
Lots of niggly things wrong that need adjusting at this time.

But....
Took it over to the engine builder's shop (Rothsport) yesterday, and went for a ride with the owner.
Wow!
Incredibly fast....almost scary.
Blurred my vision!
As much fun as the old 3.2 was, this engine is certainly a step above.
Will take some time to re-acquaint myself with the car again.
