Fuel Pump replacement
I'm about to replace my fuel pump in my 1988 911.
What size crush washers do I need ??? and... what size is the connection on the pump ? better yet... I will be using a impact wrench to get to old one off so what size socket do I use on the impact wrench ? Thanks Chuck |

I just replaced the pump on my SC. Can't remember the size of the crush washers (but they are the exact same size as the crush washer for the engine oil drain plug on my 2004 BMW 325). Our host sells them.
I would guess that the wrench sizes would be the same as mine. If it is the same you'll need a 17mm and a 19mm (on the impact wrench) together - counterhold the pressure line to get the fitting off. Mine was very tight. I would go ahead and order two new rubber bushings for the mount. On mine, one was completely broken and the other was pretty torn. Our host also sells those. Have fun...
