Round Top, Texas gathering - East meets West.

Here's almost all the cars (composite picture) from last weekend's East Meets West gathering in Round Top, Texas. We had guys and gals from San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. 356's, 911's and 912's...22 cars total. Perfect timing for the Beer Festival that weekend... good times!!!

Just out of curiosity, who's car is the Aubergine coupe with the tea strainers? R Gruppe member? I would be very interested in corresponding with him regarding that tea strainer setup and if he is having any performance issues. Thanks.

Thanks for posting pics. Looks like a great gathering. Hopefully you'll do it again next year. Maybe a few more of us slackers will be able to make it next time.

James,

Great picture. How did you make the composite panoramic picture?

Yes, Bob has the right car and owner. He had a few minor adjustments to make the webers run REALLY well. When they do not pull the same air based on a mis-adjusted drop-arm linkage they are just not crisp! You could hear the difference after the change.

Scott, Jim's setup uses a rubber material to hold the tea strainer balls in place. There is a thread on EarlyS that details the process. They were fairly simple to remove to install the synchrometer. send me a PM and I can put the two of you in touch - assuming Bob has not already done so.

Jeremy come out the March Gathering. The event is posted on the Early S TX regional site.

Also come out the 2011 10th Anniversary Hill Country Rally held in Fredericksburg, TX. Good times to be had by all.

Shoot you can get one of those Fuji cardboard cameras with a panoramic lens at the drug/grocery store. Takes pretty good pics.

Wow, only 2 impact bumper cars (I think).

-----JP, I found the Fredericksburg drive listed but not the March gathering. What and when is that?

Thanks

Yes, just two impact bumper cars. A 76 912E and an 81(?) SC. We have a good group and a warm Feb. day certainly brings them all out.

Jay, Here is the March Tour info. Bring out the blue car and enjoy.
