No more decklid nailing my head!
Was getting tired of the rear deck lid nailing me on the head after adding a carrera tail, so took an extra shock I had laying around and a dollar's worth of hardware and made my own dual shock kit. I noticed pelican sells the kit for around $7, and their kit probably would look better and be easier to install. Of course, I'm not the type to do anything the easy way. I highly recommend this mod for all of you with tail that are tired of propping up your decklids with broom handles, etc. and are tired of getting hit on the head by the deck lid. Had my car for about two years and finally got around to doing it yesterday.

Maybe 2 years is the average for putting up with this, cause that's how long I lasted as well. Even worse, most of the time I used my head to prop the car up whenever I worked in the bay.

radcon,
A trick I learned from some professional Hofco alarm installers back in the day. A better place to stash your alarm siren is in the steering rack tunnel. Take off the steel cover plate and stick it in the middle, and put the plate back on. Wire it coming through the smuggler's box to your alarm module. No one can kill it and its still loud as hell. If the siren flare is a bit big, you may have to sawcut off part of it to fit in there. |
