Control Arm & crossmember question (pic)
I removed my drivers side control arm with a little effort. I noticed that the crossmember looked like it had taken a hit, and a suffered a notch of sorts right where the control arm long bolt goes. Some metal was pushed up and blocked the removal of the control arm, so I filed it down to help.
When I removed the A-arm, I got the impression that a PO went 4-wheeling. I'll do more of an inspection when I remove the other a-arm and the crossmember, but can someone tell from looking at this if I need to repair or replace the crossmember , or if I can leave it alone? How about the A-arm flanges (bushing-stops), is it ok if I just bang them back? I can't tell if this is a cosmetic issue or worse. I saw some other threads with more significant damage to the c-member and it was replaced, but not sure if this fits the category. Thank you! ![]()

aside from replacing the bushing and hammering the washers straight, i wouldnt worry about the cross member or control arm.

Yeah mine were a little bent up as well. I hammered them flat again, or close to it. No big deal. If you are powder coating it all just sand it down a little and get the rough stuff off so the PC looks nice

If you are putting in poly bronze you can check the alignment after hammering to make sure they are close to what you need. Just put on the sleeve and see how flat the surface is that mates up to the bushing. hammer... review w/ bushing, hammer, review, hammer, review.... yada yada yada
