Question '76 Radio Wiring Info Needed

I'm in the process of swapping in a new Blaupunkt Honolulu tuner/CD player (from Crutchfield) in place of what looks to be an OEM Porsche/Blaupunkt tuner/tape deck in a 1976 911S. When I pulled the OEM unit I was able to identify the speaker leads, the antenna lead (it went to an antenna adapter? left lying behind the passenger floorboard)and a yellow power lead terminating in an insulated female spade lug. This power lead appears to be an add-on as it has an in-line fuse and two crimped splices. In addition there is a blue wire terminating in an insulated female spade connecter - this may be a ground as the only remaining male spade connector (the first one was for the DC Power) on the back of the OEM unit is riveted to the chassis but I'm unsure as the connector slipped off the back of the OEM unit when I pulled it. There ia also a second insulated female spade connector which has two wires crimped into it; one is black and the other yellow with a red stripe. Accessory and ignition switched power shows in the yellow fused lead and the black and yellow/red sripe wires. Does anyone know the correct radio hookup arrangement or identity of these wires? I looked through the factory shop manuals and radio/audio information is very sparse and completely lacking in the wiring schematics. I don't have access to the Bently manual. The information from Crutchfield was not too helpful either - their excuse was most people with Porsches do not install their own audio equipment. I need switched DC power ,a good ground I can find this) and a constant DC power source for the clock and presets. Where is a close point under the dash to obtain constant DC power? Or will I need to run a wire to the front fuse block? If so. which is an appropriate fuse(s) to use for constant DC power? The car has an OEM manual antenna and the new tuner/CD unit has a 10 amp fuse in the back panel. Many thanks. Jim Sims

Hello

Just skip the factory cables. the power suppley runs via the lightswitch and a beefy radio will burn the switch on the long run. If you are unhappy your lights will dim to zero at night.

On the 76 is a yellow/red and a blue wire who are leftovers for the gas heater.

Now most aftermarked amps have a blue wire to switch there units.

Ground is runing via the antennacable and the rear clamp or bolt on the body.

Best is you check out the cables and fuse box at the pelican wire diagrams then run a complete own wireloom for the radio to the fuseblock and the groundpoint on the trunkfloor.
Colors are black for Ign, brown for Grd, red for unswitched Power, gray for illumination.

Some radios have a speedo hook up, you can get a Opel Vectra ( GM ) speed sensor for 15$ that will fit into the speedo cable drive then you need two wires one power and one for the signal.

To install the radio you have to unscrew the switch knobs and sometimes do some fine adjusting on the cutout for the mounting frame. Best is your radio face is flush to the panel.

Grüsse
