Helga is gone but I'm hanging around...

Just sold my '74 911 Targa (Helga)...

Helga is for sale...

I'll still hang around here and when the time is right, I may be in the market for a Cayman S.

I saw your listing Art, thought your price was low by at least $2K. Good luck getting a Cayman, there are some great deals on these cars out there.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-PORSCHE-CAYMAN-S-6-SPEED-1-OWNER-CALI-CAR-I-POD-/260678536975?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3cb1a6cf0f

January would probably be a good time to buy.

Shawn,
Thanks. I think the amount I got for it was fair and I wanted the seller to get a good deal and be happy with the car, as I was. I won't be actively looking for a Cayman S until my gout is under control (and our kids are out of college)!

I also thought it was a beautiful car and priced VERY attractively. Good luck finding your next ride!

I did not expect this, sorry to be reading this. She went fast which is surprising consider the time of year. Then again I bought my car this time of year about eight years ago.

Is Helga staying in Michigan?

Cayman S...................nice car.

It will be awhile before I'm in the market for a Cayman S, so I'll be researching until then. With my gout pain, driving the car became difficult and I bought the car to drive it. It's going to a good home and I'll concentrate on getting this gout under control. Thanks, everyone!

The fall color tour drive a couple weeks ago just about killed me with my toe swollen and throbbing, pressing on the clutch pedal. That was the day I decided to sell the car...

You sold your 911 because of your gout?!? That's must be awful! I had gout problems before, too. But nothing like you're going through.

I suggest to change your diet. It could be any number of things that may contribute to your gout problem. May I recommend a book titled "Maker's Diet"? You'll have to be open minded to believe anything in that book. It's contrary to the medical industry.

I'm already a vegetarian, no alcohol, no HFCS, no sugars or junk food, I drink water and tart cherry juice, take Allopurinol every day and STILL have almost constant pain from gout...

Sounds like you follow a good diet already. Did you know that wheat products can contributes to gout? I'd stay away or minimize any food containing wheat. That's pretty hard to do! Also, stay away from pastas.

I'm not sure why you're a vegetarian but I'm not a vegetarian and neither is the author of a book "Maker's Diet".

I hope you'll find something that will help!

last pics of Helga in her new (temporary) home...

Dropped off the car to the seller's mother's place. Very nice lady and the transaction went smoothly. We'll miss the car...

Today...

Last weekend at the in-law's house...

Hey Art,

Do you have any photos of Helga's interior? I was curious how it looked, I'm still in the market for an early to mid 911 and wanted to see how your interior looked.

Sorry I was late to the dance for Helga, I would have loved to park her in my garage.

Good luck with everything.

Regards,

Randy

Randy,
Here are some interior pictures for you. The seats are solid black, but they look two-tone gray in these pics...

Art,

I have a soft spot for you and your "old" car. Helga was the first car that I saw on this board that make me stop in my tracks. The combination of those wheels with that candy-apple red is just beautiful. I don't know if you remember, but a couple years ago, you went to check out what became my first Carrera in Saline. You did an excellent job at doing an amateur PPI! It's guys like you that make this board awesome! I hope you do stick around, and can get back into a Porsche soon. Good luck to you, sir!
