How often to grease PB bushings, how to keep zirk from walking?

Frustration level reached a full 10 last night when I went to do a quick grease injection on the PB zirks.

One of the rears (outside) had walked into contact with the retainer, necessitating the removal, and and re-clocking the bushing.

One of the fronts (rear bushing) had walked into the a-arm spline, so that one went unattended.
So my quickie 15-minute job turned into 3 hours

I just did these before my last event in Feb and all was fine.

After this weekend's 3-day event, I guess I'll go back to step one, and cement the bushings to the housings - though I don't want to.

Anyone ever tap the bronze and screw in a false zirk - like an allen key - to establish a bumper that would keep the zirk in the target zone?

That is such a pain in the ass... On mine the zirks keep coming unglued. Its the 1 fault I have found with the PB setup. They really need to thread in a 90 deg. right angle tube, but the space is so limited. Pics of your solution would be beneficial

Also interested in recommended greasing frequency.
There is no info on the ER site that I could find.
Seems that Chuck's new spherical bearings would solve this problem, but they are pretty pricey, and that would mean you would have to ditch your (already pricey) PB bushings?

I haven't installed my PB bearings yet but after reading numerous issues with them, I'm having second thoughts and debating ordering a set of rubber units instead.

In the instructions, They recommend an adhesive if the bushing installs too easily.

McMaster Carr sells a Polyurethane Adhesive called "Double Bubble" D-50 made by Hardman.

The adhesive comes in 3.5G packages so you may need 4 to do both outer spring plate caps.

Apply it to the cover and the O.D. of the bushing. Press them together, remove any excess and let cure overnight.

Once cured it will not move.

Mine are on a dedicated track car, (along with the rest of a complete ER suspension), and the handling is finally at a point where I'm 100% confident that the car will do everything I ask it to do, and everything I need to tweak/alter is readily adjustable.
The ride is acceptable for the street also - better than some of the rubber/delron bushings out there.
Be aware that there are alternatives out there. A lot of Pellicans think Rebel Racing products are the best thing since Liquid Prell.

that's the rub, nothing installed easily, and most needed some persuasion with a clamp or vise. - but still they're walking.

McMaster-Carr

part number 7493A21

Do you have sufficient endplay between the spring-plate and cover?

Yes, everything moved as it should before I attached to the trailing arm. I had called Chuck during the install and was told to use the shims until the arm moved freely - ended up using 8 on each side.

Well if you have no binding, then the adhesive above should solve your problems.

It comes in packs of 10 which is plenty
