Fuchs Question
If I have a 1984 Porsche 911 Targa, should I only go with a 911 code fuchs rim or can I go with a 951 code rim from a 944 with 7's in the front and 8's in the rear? I'm trying to figure out what I should have regarding the offset and what is acceptable and what will look correct? Thanks so much in advance.

Wow, Nice, what are on the rears in the picture? Are these 8's or 9's?

You can use 944 7" or 8" Fuchs on the front of any 911, the 8s are extremely tight, an ET 25-31 is preferred for this app.
Front space tells you how far out the wheel sits, In back a 911 7 ET23.3 has a front space of 74.6mm, this was the standard oem fit for SC/Carrera cars a 911 8 ET10.6 has a front space of 98.4mm, these were optional 911 SC/Carrera fits but they by no means fill the rear wheel well. a 930 9ET15 has a front space of 108.mm, this is a great fit and highly recommended. the largest front space is going to be ~ 114.3mm. a 944 8 w/ ET23.3 has a front space of 85.9mm, as you can see a 944 7 sits the same as a 911 7, a 944 8 sits 11.3mm further outboard than a 911 or 944 7, but also 12.5mm further inboard than a 911 8 and 22.1mm further inboard than a 930 9 |
So if you want to run that set of wheels and have them look correct, bolt on 7s in front as is and bolt on 8s in back with a 15 or 20mm hubcentric spacer. Have fun!

Justin, that is a 911 8", no spacer. Fills out the wheel well and fits in very well. If you have standard flares (like mine), 8s or 9s will look about the same, the 9s put more width toward the inside of the car. I can't find more pictures...but will look.

Thank you for all the great information
This site is invaluable. Thank you to everyone for all of the great information and the great pics. The 7's and 8's look great. I have plenty of time as my car sits in storage until about May. Awesome posts. Thanks so much
