How do I install a K&N cone filter?

My chip and K&N cone filter housing should arrive today. I know install instructions come for the chip but not for the filter. Is this a straightforward job? I have just browsed my Bentley manual on the air box and starred at it in my car a little on Saturday. It was not immediately apparent how to remove the air box. Can someone, who has done this already, please advise me on how easy this is, how long it should take and any special tools needed? Thanks.

yeah, unclip (2 clips at front/2 rear) the box and remove the filter. there are then 4 small bolts inside the plastic housing that ytou have to remove (there maybe a screw/bolt on the outside of the housing at the back - holding a hose if i remember correctly).

hope that helps

sorry you ordered it. I have one and removed it, as it killed my air flow meter. Those things are not made to fit properly on your car.
The airbox is bolted to the manifold by 3 or 4 bolts.

The cone is held by a bracket. The cone is not supported by the manifold, and it is very heavy. You've got all that weight pulling if the bracket shifts or comes loose.

Anyway...after having to replace the air flow meter for other problems and noticing the cone had stripped 2 of the fittings that bolted it to the meter as it sloshed around back there, I dumped the cone and went back to airbox (which is easy to remove once you get the cover off and look inside at what's holding it on)
