No Spark
I think I screwed things up here.....working on a 1977 911 targa for a friend.
I now have no spark at the plugs. I was doing a little wire replacement in the engine bay. I screwed up and accidentally grounded the 12 volt wire to the distributor (long story why). Would this fry the permatune box?? |
Did you get some fancy Bosch wire smoke?
1) Check your fuses in the engine bay. 2) Check your fuses up front. ... |
I wouldn't think this would damage the Permatune. It should blow the fuse feeding the 12 volt wire. You can check the igniton system by making sure the permatune box has power and then gounding and ungrounding the points wire. It should spark when the wire is removed from ground. If no spark and you are sure of all the connections (power, ground, coil wires), then you have a bad permatune box or a bad coil.
