Anodizer in Texas

I am currently having my window frames polished. Can anyone recommend a shop in Texas that will do the Bright Dip anodizing?

Thanks!

Why pm? There are plenty of Pelicans such as myself who would love to know where all the anodizers are. EPA regs are killing them off like flies.

Del's in Houston does anodizing. I've taken some things to them for zinc plating and have been reasonably satisfied with service and pricing. It's not the most inviting place, but then that's Houston industry for you.

Environmental regulation just means you have to do things more carefully. If "EPA regs" were "killing" the anodizing business, then there would be no anodizing business in the US, since all firms in that business are subject to the same regulations. A shop doing good quality, professional work will do just fine.

I contacted Del's and was told they would not help me as they do aerospace and such. Maybe if I walked in with the parts i would get further.

It would be nice if there were more places, and I can't help you with Texas, but if you have to mail it anyway, King of Trim does great work and is familiar with Porsche parts.

Be prepared for a less-than-stellar experience with them. Read my story here - Carrera backdate! - and skip to posts #72 and #86.

EPA regs are becoming more stringent and causing a dramatic rise in costs to anodizers and cad platers, to the point where many of them have gone away because the markets they were in couldn't support the price increases necessary to stay profitable. As a result, many are disappearing.

I sent my trim to King of Trim because I had no better choice. There are anodizers in Colorado and the surrounding states, but none of them are capable of doing bright finish work to the level required for an auto restoration. Very few places in the country are, so don't expect to be able to send your trim to just any anodizer.

King of Trim will charge anywhere from $1500 to $2000 for a complete set of 911 window trim. Be ready for that and expect it to take several months unless you happen to hit their timing just right.
