Need a Clutch Slave Rebuild Kit

Morning everyone. Last night I pulled off the clutch slave cylinder on my 91 Turbo. I've been having the dreaded hanging clutch syndrome for a while and finally decided to try and fix it. I'm pretty sure I've got either a bad slave or master since I've been slowly loosing fluid (haven't found the leak yet though). Thought I'd start with the slave. Another symptom is when warm, I loose some pedal travel. When cold I get full engagement of the pedal. But when it's hot the pedal has to travel 2" before getting any resistance.

Overall the slave cylinder looks good. The rubber seal is showing some where on the sides. Cylinder itself is very smooth. I'd like to buy a rebuild kit for it. The new ones are a little expensive. Anybody know where to find rebuild kits. Or at the very least just the rubber seal???

Just as a follow up, the slave seal part number I need is: FAG H 23302.

Anybody have tips on how to source a seal like this? Been trying the internet with little success:confused:

what was the quote you got on a new one? they're really not that expensive thru a local shop. thru a dealer they would be.

Best price I found was through Vertex $129...part number 950 1162 23750 for the slave. They also have the Master for $49...part number 993 423 17100.

After disassembly, I'm not convinced the slave is my problem. Don't want to throw away that much at the moment. Thought if I could find a source for the FAG seals I might as well put a new one in. But can't seem to find a source selling just seals. I know somebody must because these things are being rebuilt.

The seal looks to be in too good of shape. The walls have no marks and very smooth. I was thinking of touching them up with 2000 grit before I reinstall.

I'm going to take off the master tonight and check it's condition. I'm hoping I find something, don't like take things apart for nothing!
