CD player

This is not Porsche secific but here goes anyway. My CD player in my 911 started getting real bad. It sounds as if you were turning it on and very rapidly. Also a lot of static. I used a lens cleaner and it fixed it until the next day when it started again. Any thoughts?

check your ground wire(s) and then check ALL connections for loose wires and or partial shorts-if that doesn't do it-go shopping for a new cd player

listen to the engine. my cd player skips so much from the stiff suspension and crappy city streets that its more anoying than what its worth.

I would recommend buying an aftermarket cd player with an electronic music buffer(such as a Sony model with ESP). My Sony has a 3 second buffer and works very well.

However, for your problems, it sounds like you have a bad ground or a loose wire elsewhere. Have you replaced the radio fuse lately? I would start with the fuse, since this will be the easiest attempt.
