Rothmans SCRS Resto at SCR

Was down at my friends shop this morning checking in on my SC, Matt McGinn and the rest of the crew of Sports Car Restoration was hard at work on the Rothmans SCRS. Check out the metal work, a Masterpiece I tell you!

All this and its going back to exactly how it left the Prodrive factory (if not better)!

They will be updating photos so bookmark and follow along

Easy to clone, but almost impossible to duplicate. Too much special 'thin' this and 'lightweight ' that to duplicate with out major $$. I did see one close approximation that was done with the thinner sheet metal & glass parts as well as some NOS parts. It was for sale in Mass. in the late 90's. Don't know what happened to it though.

I also saw an orriginal in the EPE shop when I was living there. If I knew then what I know now I would have taken a thousand pictures. Seems to be one of the few cars that just has very little info/pics in case you do want to copy it.

My desktop background is a Rothman SCRS. I have heard these were beasts.

Are not the pro-drive cars , units that were built from normal VINed carrera 3.2 body shells. Privately away from the factory.

As in , not any of the 20 SCRS cars originally built by the Porsche Factory ?
