Floor board installation question. '88 Carrera
What is the trick to floor board installation; can this be done without removal of the pedals? What is the purpose of the hardware around the clutch slot?
Thanks |

On my '75 i have to "pop" the gas pedal off to fit the floorboard. On the '75 you can just pull straight up and out, it stays connected on the bottom, but there's a ball + socket type connection about halfway up it. get down under there and take a look to see if yours is the same.
Good luck!

Yes the floor board can be removed with the pedals still in place. I just did that as I am replacing the floorboard and carpet in my 86 cab. Removing the rubber pads on the pedals may help if that is your issue.
I am not sure I understand your second question... Can you post a pic?

the hardware around the clutch slot is a clutch stop. It limits how far the pedal can travel (and thus the amount of travel up before the clutch starts to bite) and is adjustable.

Thanks guys!
Appreciate your advice on this. The gas pedal was in fact the stopper as I was able to get the fb over the clutch and brake pedals. I was short of time and didn't want to yank on stuff willy nilly. yaz
