New Seats.........

Bought a set of seats today. They are the Corbeau Ultra SS seats. Non reclining shells with good padding! Black vinyl with coth seating surfaces. Made in England, not China! Replacing 40 lb seats with 16 lb seats!! I got to try one for "fit" today, nice and comfy. Now all I have to do is get the car out of the paint shop!

Seats......

These are 'suspension" seats. And yes, they have the anti submarine slot. I was in Atlanta on Saturday and got the opportunity to try one on. Nice fit, good support, comfortable seat and back, etc. The main reason for the seat change was to reduce weight. A pair of these seats will be 48 lbs lighter than the ones I was using. I am in the middle of a "re-do" on the SC and will have dropped its weight by about 250 lbs when done. I have eliminated the rear seat cushions and seat backs, the new door panels will be the RS type with pull straps, have replaced the rear bumper with a fiberglass RS type and the front valence with a Euro style front air dam. The carpet will be replace with a set of the RS type lightweight carpets from our host. Oh, yes, the console is going away also. Once the paint and interior are done, I am going to build a 3.3 liter short stroke engine with direct fire ignition (XDi), twin plug big port heads, 964 cams, etc. Let the good times roll!

Missed one.........

Forgot to address your question about price. The pair of seats delivered to my house were $575. That price does not include mounting adapters or sliders. I am going to see if I can use the sliders from other seats that I already have. If that does not work, the adapters are $29 per seat and the Corbeau custom sliders made for a Porsche will be $89 each.
