Difference between the Targa and Coupe wooden floorboards?
I have a Targa. Needed a new set of wooden floorboards and bought some for a coupe out of the "parts for sale" section.
The do not fit... are close but are different. Anyone know the difference? Am guessing that the wheel wells are just a bit different in the Targa and I am going to have to "massage" the boards to fit.

Because the Targa does not have a complete roof, it needs to have some additional stiffness in the lower unibody (all open cars require this which is why you do not cut a coupe to make a convertible or Targa).
In a Targa, the footwells have some addtitional metal along the outer edge than makes the footwells narrower. If you jump from a Targa to a Cupe and Back again, you can see/feel the difference.

Anyone have a picture of a targa floor board compared to the coupe version? Wondering how much I have to cut off to make it fit.

Make a pattern out of cardboard from your floor board and then cut it to fit.

Here you go. Had exactly the same problem.
Don't understand why the floorboards are different though. Must be that the Targa body is superior in design versus the coupe ![]() Ed [mg]http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads18/Floorboard+Targa1297584321.jpg[/mg]

![]() Read the previous message, stiffness of the body seems to be the logical reason why.

Eddy,
Thanks VERY much! Just what I needed to get started cutting. Hey, do you live in Praha? May be going to the Czech Republic later on this summer... Love it over there. Joe A

No worries, we Targa guys have to help each other!
Give me a PM when you go to Prague, I know some nice restaurants, hotels and places to visit. It's a beautiful and historical city. Cheers, Ed Picture with Prague Castle (and my 72). ![]()
