"rubber seals around the guards" I think we need a picture or a translation and/or a Fosters!
|
between the guard and the panel that holds the wipers
|
ps if you want a good beer try cascade much better than fosters
|
I know, it's just popular swill with the college crowd. I like XXXX myself.

Michael,
Exactly where are you talking about? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1297114086.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1294868799.jpg Best, Grady |

I think we're confused on what you mean by "guard". Which part does this refer to?
|
Guard = mudguard = front fender.

Going out on a limb here, guard = fender? And the seal is the small piece between the fender and the cowl?
Speaking of speaking the same language. Seen this? http://www.hulu.com/watch/215177/saturday-night-live-british-movie |
I agree with Geronimo and JP911, he appears to be referring to the beading between the fender and cowl. To answer his question, that beading needs to be in place to close and seal the gap between the sheet metal pieces and to prevent metal-to-metal rubbing of the parts. If you've seen pictures where the bead is missing, possibly the car is question is not complete in its assembly/restoration or the bead has been painted over and you cannot distinguish it from the photo.

yes, if you want to prevent pregnancy.

sorry all i forgot i wasnt in the good ol US of A
i do mean number 10 between the fender and the cowl and as always the answer is obtained as some one put it so nicely mudguard= guard =fender so does fender = fend off = as in when you hit things ? |
Just think of them like a ru bumper

Probably more like fend off flying mud--bumper is for when you hit things:D! So following this logic, why do our U.K. brothers call it a "wing?" |

Guards....?
I've always heard them called 'Wings', by my British friend and Kiwi Brother in Law. So, have a lot of Devils there in Tasmania? Yes, you need the bead (rubber - that's an entirely different discussion) there. |
ok after the fender\guard\wing debate
i also get the rubber comments we call them frangers dont ask me why i dont know but i will be more careful with my choice of words in the future. as for the actual tassie devil they are not quite the same as the warner bros character but up until the last few years were very common in the bush (sorry forest we use the word bush for the heavily wooded area around our suburbs not pubic hair) unfortunately they have developed a sever virus that is killing off the population the scientists are working hard. any donations to the cause look up tasmanian devil facial tumour regards michael targa 76 |
