I bought a 69 911 S parts car but I think the car may be a 67 or 68S coupe.
The car is short wheel base, has the green gauges, opening side vent windows, early heater outlets, roof mounted mirror, single battery in front of the left wheel well, 12 horizontal fuse panel, 68 901-02 motor & transmission. I wanted to check the serial number with the one stamped in the trunk. I think eary cars had numbers stamped around the transmission linkage and on the door frames behind the rubber trim. Can anyone help. |

Yes, but we need way better photos than you posted in the Early 911S Registry thread. I think only Karmann bodied cars have the # under the linkage panel. I need photos of the various badges.

Hello Dave,
I read the thread on the 912 site . You mean you (or anyone you know ) has never checked any 1964-69 Porsche built bodies for the rear body stamping ? (if Karmann did it , you would think that they had been directed to do so by Porsche Zuffenhausen ? So that Porsche bodies would have something there also) How about 1970 MY and later bodies (Karmann or Porsche) ? Thx |

plumber ,
No one can help you , unless you post GOOD photos of the trunk VIN stamp. And the stamped number under the dash to the right of the ash tray. |

Hi guys thanks for the feedback.
I have spent the last few days cleaning the car & looking for other numbers. RatBox, I did look for the number stamped under the dash with no sucess. I will have another look tomorrow & try to post some better pictures. |
