OT... How many of you are going to watch...
 

the Winter Olympics over the next few weeks? I was against the games coming here to Utah until 9/11. I have now found myself buying event tickets, going to see the torch relay, and getting very excited about the 3 billion people that will be looking in on our beautiful state!

can't wait. i was a slalom racer when i was younger and still love to ski.

Same here, mainly the downhill skiing and the ski jumping. Maybe the bobsled as well (I heard Lola is involved with one of the teams!). -- Curt

I'm going to be looking for some local guy with studs on all four tires to be rippen around the speed skating oval in a 1981 911SC/RS

Count me in as totally nuts about winter sports. Can't wait to go skiing this year since I missed last year.

Hoot! Let's do that...Porsches with studded tires, an autocross course set up on the skating rink. That. I'd watch! Winter Olympics trivia buffs? The first woman from the USA to win medals in olympic downhill events? Jean Saubert, '64 Olympics. She grew up in Cascadia, Oregon...did her early skiing at Hoodoo Ski bowl, up on the Hwy 20 pass through the Cascade Mountains.

Our local PCA just did an autocross on a ice pond in Evanston, WY. No studs I far as I know, but 3 Porsches, a few Audis, an SUV, and a Buick or something like that competed. Looks alot like that VW add where the guy is saying to himself "now how did that work, the power goes to the wheel that grips" as he is spinning down the street. I think they should have a winter rally as part of the games!!!
