Best Service Ever Received

Heh Everyone:

I simply want to applaud the magnificent service I received from Specialized ECU Repair.

I had a no start problem that I simply could not remedy. I was freaking out and I did the basics like changing the DEI relay, etc. All to no success. Finally I went on the Pelican forum and did a search for the best ECU repair service. "Specialized" kept coming up with a lot of the forum members raving about the great customer service Jose, the tech there, gives. So I called Jose and he and George sent me diagnostic sheets that they walked me thru before sending them my Brain. In fact I called them to send my brain to them and Jose would not allow me to do so until he walked with me thru several diagnostic steps.

Jose was patient and ever present to assist me with diagnosing my problem, walking me step by step on each diagnostic. I sent him my brain and to my surprise he called me and related that there was nothing wrong with it. Of course i was expecting them to find some reason to have me pay for a repair, but there honesty prevailed. It only cost me $50 for them to test out the brain, which was way less than me having to pay for them to repair the unit.

Even after sending the brain back to me Jose spent three days, without pay, troubleshooting my car until he found the reason why it would not start. He got me up and running by guiding me over the phone. I insisted that he allow me to pay him for the guidance and expertise he showed, but he refused to accept any payment saying to me that it was his full intent to get me up and running.

When I first spoke with Jose he vowed to get my car running and he made good that commitment.

Like i said, this is the best service I have received. For those who ever experience no start issues, do not hesitate to call Specialized ECU repair. The forum members directed me to these guys and it was some of the best advice my fellow forum members have given.

Thumbs up How about we turn this into a Good Customer Service thread?

I propose we use this thread to talk about people or companies that have provided excellent service.

I'll share two:

Paul Abbot, AKA 1quickS, of Performance Oriented, spent hours on the phone with me trying to help me get my Webers running right and giving vital information on where to source long out of production parts. He provided all of this help for no cost.

Even though I don't have enough money in the project fund to have my Webers redone by him, he still helped me get them running as well as they can with worn out shafts, and he even sent me a T-Shirt!

-Thanks for everything Paul!

Second, Glenn Ring. He only rebuilds and sells old cast iron Bosch distributors, but seems to have encyclopedic knowledge about all Bosch distributors. I approached him with some questions about a dizzy I had just bought that was missing some tiny and specialized parts. Glenn told me how they go together, how to install them, and then sent me the parts I needed for FREE!

-Thanks Glenn!

Seriously amazing service! The Porsche community, especially around the air cooled cars, is great!

Cheers,
-Dan

Placed a Pelican parts order last Wednesday afternoon. Packaged arrived Friday. Went to the Tech Session on Saturday. Didn't pay extra for overnight shipping, actual cost was $2.92. California to Texas...amazing!

Here's an unlikely candidate for fabulous service....

My local Ford Dealership here in Winnipeg. I believe they are called Keystone Ford. When I first acquired my 911, I searched the web for recommendations for wheel balancing, someone who I could trust with my (beautiful) polished fuchs. Believe it or not these guys were getting amazing positive feedback from the local car clubs, so I called them up and they convinced me they would be exceptionally careful.

So I arrived and one of the owners and two of his guys took the best care I have ever seen from a dealership. They insisted on using a four post instead of two post for fear of damaging oil lines. They put wood blocks against the ramps onto the lift to make sure the front valance didn't get damaged, and another guy watched the bottom of the car all the way onto the lift.

Really was a great bit of customer service, and I'm sure part of it was that they were quiet and had spare time, but it really changed my opinion of the place. I really don't like new car dealerships, I think they provide awful service and I never use them (not even for my wife's new car), but on this occasion I may have found a diamond in the rough.
