RS Carpet Kit for just the rear?
Have a dilemma that I need help with. I am working on my 85 carrera that is in excellent original condition. However, as I can never leave anything alone, I would like to clean up the interior and potentially shed some weight. The issue is that the interior is chocolate brown which limits to a degree some options. The main objective is to remove the rear jump seats and corresponding trim pieces and install carpeting. The most logical answer would be to get an RS carpet kit and be done with it. Well I believe a black carpet kit would not look right with all of the brown trim and I would really like to keep that "factory" feel. I contacted World Upholstery to see if they would just make the rear RS carpet pieces in the factory brown silverknit, but unfortunately they would just sell the carpet in bulk. Has anyone else out there completed a similar job? Does anyone have any ideas? I know that I can take the car to a custom trim ship here in Denver and have them do it, but I guarantee it will be double the cost of an RS kit from Appbiz.

yes, but he does have a limited color selection, if you want sliverknit which is the oem carpet your choice is black or beige
Lakewell will make up a set in any color, I had them do mine in dark blue w/ red script, it was a perfect match for the original

While some have had issues with John at Original Fit Interiors (541-459-1700), I found him to be just the ticket for matching non-standard carpeting. I sent him a sample of my car's carpeting (turned out to be Mercedes Benz carpeting). John made me the rear shelf piece and provided enough carpeting to cover a rear seat delete. here's a pick of the results:

I wanted German Squareweave, Tony at Autobahn Upholstery cut and bound the pieces and it fits perfect.

RKT - That is exactly what I am looking for except in my original Sliverknit. Tony does a fantastic job and yours turned out great. I will give Tony a call and see what he can do. Thanks everyone for their input (your interiors look very nice) and if you have additional ideas keep them coming...
