hidden attenna recommendations?

I may need to replace windshield soon, but I heard the better route may be a powered internal antenna ( & Cheaper glass) rather than the pricey windshield with the marginal antenna built in.

Does anyone have any experience with these? the last relevant post i found was from 2003.

amazon has one for 20 bucks,

I used one of those fairly inexpensive powered ones that you stick on the windshield in a prior 911. A piece of black plastic maybe 8 inches long or so. It worked about the same as the factory "in the glass" antenna in my current 911 (i.e., marginal, as you point out, but workable).

Years ago I found one at Radio Shack. It was in a clear tape, like scotch tape. that I ran up the outside and top of the windshield up to the rear view mirror. It's worked for at least 10 years.

another option is a hidden antenna in the trunk

of the 3 options I have no idea which would be best, tho the trunk ones have the metal trunk around them...
