One of the reasons I buy Bosch tools is that they are good tools, often with exceptional features, and good service.
Two examples: My drill driver failed on a job at 3:30 in the afternoon. Smoke came out. They hate when that happens, LOL. I called Bosch service, and the next morning, at 9:30, my FedEx guy was at the door with a new one. Included was a prepaid label. He waited while I unboxed the new and boxed the old busted one. Total downtime: 2 hrs.

At a recent tradeshow, the Bosch reps were chatting and showing the products. I mentioned how I'd modded my table saw for router use. Instantly, I was asked into a meeting room, and another guy was called in. For 20 minutes we discussed what I did, how it worked, and they told me of their prototypes and wanted to know what I thought.
Listening to the guys who use the tools. Being "IN" the field. Good stuff. And it shows in the innovations.

Wayne is very similar.

omg- I can relate -I can't tell you how I upset I was when I got a shipment from Pelican the other day and there was WAY TOO MUCH packing material inside. Crazy...

I think this thread has lived its useful life and now would be a good time to close it.

Believe it or not, that is probably the number one complaint on our surveys - that we use too much packing material. The second most popular complaint is that we didn't use enough packing material. Seriously, I'm not making this up - it's both entertaining and frustrating to read on a daily basis.
