Bosch p/n for cly temp sensor?
 

Does anyone know the Bosch part number for the upgraded two wire cylinder head temp sensor? All I have is Porsche p/n
964.606.405.00 and 930.606.013.00

What is the story behind the two wire sensor. What is the upgrade? Is there a thread you can point me to that covers this topic? I had been thinking about replacing mine and would be interested in knowing what options are out there.

the two wire sensor is the upgrade and the only option. it doesn't rely on thread contact to the head for it's ground. search the archives. there's lots of posts about this. replace the DME relay at the same time and eliminate the two most common running (or not running) problems with the carrera.

Thanks for the info guys. Is the slotted socket by any chance the same size for the head temp sensor and the O2 sensor? That would be too good to be true...

Derk- Curious as to why you wanted the Bosch part number. Is the part no longer available through Porsche? Maybe cheaper?

Cylinder head temp sensor is either 13 or 14 mm, and the O2 sensor is a lot larger. Made a big improvement in my car when I went to the new cyl head sensor. Well worth the time and money to replace but a ***** to get to ...
