Carrera fuel line job (expensive one):

Just did a quick search for info on replacing the infamous 3.2 Carrera fuel line and found *nothing*. Maybe I'm using wrong terms but how could "fuel line" or "fuel hose" be wrong? I also did not see any listing for this part in the Pelican catalogue, 3.2 Carrera fuel/intake section. I have a friend who apparently needs this replaced and all I remember is that it's a very expensive part and possibly a big job(?) If anyone can direct me to what I'm sure are dozens of threads on this job, I'd appreciate it. Somehow, the search engine here does not like me and sends me in a weird direction every time. I've never owned a 3.2 and still I remember lots of discussions about this fuel line. TIA. | ||

Don't need it rebuilt, just the usual DIY thread on replacing it. Partial engine drop/full engine drop? Manifold removed? Etc., etc...

Oh, ok I've only replaced with engine completely out of the car - my guess is it will be much easier with manifold off but I haven't read the other threads - it wasn't that easy with the engine out and manifold on in my experience

You don't need to remove the manifold. Just take your time. I'm working on my '87 911. Just got the hoses back from Mesa Hose in Costa Mesa. $189 taxes and shipping included.

note to self re. Mesa Hose - if they know the ropes and has done a few and people are happy with results - I would like to see some pictures of assemblies back from Mesa - then all things being equal; support CA businesses

It wasn't hard to take it out, the difficulty is removing the old gaskets from the heads.

GREAT thread here for better-than-factory fix..... doesn't require engine drop, and cheaper too !!---- > Fuel lines sent to Amazon Hose Tampa for rebuild
