02 sensor question??
has anyone used non OE (ie not bosch) 02 sensors?
are they ok? i have been quoted £100 for OE and £30 for non OE. the non OE are "beru" apparently anyone????? the dickster:D :D :D |
I have seen them for sale in various parts stores but not tried one. Would love to see if they worked as well. Assume that you might have to change the plug or wiring somewhat but for the price savings it would be worth it.

I asked this question a little while ago... no answers. There was a small discussion about this last summer... also with no conclusive answers.
My car's about to hit 60k, with the original O2 sensor. I'm thinking of replacing it. For $70 it sounds like a good idea, but $200 is a bit much to spend on a "while I'm at it" repair. Maybe if we keep bumping this post someone will take pity on us and offer their informed opinion:D |
a cheapo o2 sensor you get at autozone has the same 3 wires and will fit. You just hav to use the old connector. I got mine for 30 bucks or something a while back. Just ensure you get it for a beemer or something and ask to look at it and make sure it has the 3 wires (heater, sensor, ground)

well i'm picking it up with premuffler tommorrow!! decided to try it for the money
it has three wires, you have to cut old wires and join it, and shrink wrap stuff to finish. i''ll keep you posted on results the dickster:D :D :D |
Provided it does the same thing, and uses the same "bung hole" it should work fine.
