K&N filter maintenance
I have K&Ns on my Webers. What are the cleaner and filter treatment products that I see for sale. Any reason why mineral spirits as a cleaner or GUNK and water followed by a light oil like penetrating oil? I remember in my old MGAs that motor oil was used on the felt air filters. What to other Pelicanites use?

I don't have a K&N on my 911, but on my old Toyota 4x4 I used K&N cleaner and K&N oil. I don't remember it being expensive enough to justify trying to make something else work.
I think they reccomend their cleaner because some others may make the filter material shrink. Use cold water for the same reason, hot is supposed to make it shrink. TOm |

Joe,
Discount auto and Autozone sell the kit reasonably cheap. Kevin Kipta 72 911T/E |
