Look what I tore up (parking brake warning?)

So, in the process of my interior strip I think I tore out my parking brake warning indicator?

Can someone please advise me as to where this wire would now be reattached?

I know it followed the autoheat wiring down into the shifter linkage tunnel before, but I cannot find where it severed from the body (if its a ground) or the rest of the circuit (if it leads all the way back to the dash).

Thanks

That is a ground circuit wire and it does lead back to the dash, not to the body. When you pull up on the brake handle, the wire grounds to the chassis and causes the light on the dash to go on as it completes the circuit to the dash light. My cars do not have auto heat but the wire for the e-brake is in a small loom that runs back to the dash. Yours may share the loom of the auto heat wiring. You will need to find the broken end and splice it with what you have to make your warning light functional.

I believe it hooks into the auto heat box.
See if you can find a place in the box where it was soldered on.

Look for the cluster of wires surrounded by a black plastic/rubber type boot coming out of the tunnel. You should see the same colored wire where it was severed.

Awesome advice as usual gentlemen.

The other end of the wire was hidden within the wiring loom for the autoheat. There is only a brief section that is protected by insulation before it goes into the tunnel where the individual wires are once again exposed and EASILY identified.

Thanks very much guys!
