Need some help

1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys,

I need a little help! I installed a used blower motor ( front of dash) I removed old and put the new one in place. Turned it on and it worked, nice and quiet. I put everything back together and NOTHING, its not working. I dont know where to look or what to do! If I am not mistaken it seems the top slide control (red) is loose or in other words slides easy, I seem to remeber a little more tension on it. I really could use some of this boards help.

Thanks,

Brian

Big,
If the fan is not running, I would check the fuse, and then remove the cover and check the harness connection. Maybe the connector came out. You have probably already done all this, but at least i tried.:)

Thanks Matt, I did check the harness. The fuses our tough I looked them over and they looked fine, however, I neet to look in my manual to find the right one and pull it. My fair is I may have tugged on the wrong thing. I also noticed when I slide the lever to the right the fan light goes on, is this coonected to the same fuse? Stupid Question coming up - These fuses are new to me, (plastic colored) how do I take them out?:)

Big, if the light is coming on for the fan, then you have power to the unit, I think. (I'm scratching my head on this.)

Is the fan new, or is it used?

Also, check the fuses real close, I have found, I sometimes need a magnafying glass to see if they are blown.

To remove the fuses, just grip with your fingers and pull gently. If you have big ape hands like me, you might find it easier to buy one of those plastic fuse puller tools at your local discount auto parts store for like .99 cents.

I would take it apart again and make sure that if you supply 12V to the fan directly it still works. It is possible that when you installed the fan one of the wires to the motor broke loose. The light inside the car is actually separate from the wiring that goes to the fan and is triggered by a different set of contacts from what I remember. It is possible to trace the wiring for the motor such that when you pull off the big connector to the housing you can use a multimeter to look for 12V for each speed setting.

Good luck.

As a side note, does anyone know what the ~3" dia. round hole in the trunk next to the drainage hose for the fresh air plenum is for? I have always wondered - does it have to do with the gas fired heater option?
