911 SC Front Fuel Line Replacement--Help!

After a lot of searching, a lot of swearing, and a lot of head scratching, I have the following situation with my SC. (Not to mention my DD 951 is in the garage with no head at the moment...)

The car began leaking fuel this week from the front fuel pump area. Leak was significant, a fast drip at idle, presumably more at speed when the fuel pump pushes more fuel. The fuel lines up front are pretty homebrew, and not in a good way. Cracked and dry. Double or triple hose clamped.

I've got the gas tank out (I'm claustrophobic, and it it was only 3 bolts)... I have ready access to new OEM fuel lines, and would prefer replacing with those. The fuel pump is removed.

My question:
Can I just replace the short fuel lines that go to the connection in the picture, along with replacing the banjo bolt, sealing rings, and other connection hardware parts?

If so, how do I get the old, crappy fuel line off the piece that goes into the body of the car? I think the piece that goes into the body of the car, which appears shinier black in the photos, is still pretty good.

Is there any way to do this that does not involve threading new lines to the rear of the car?

Thanks in advance.

Pics below.

Tim

Here's an overall picture to put things into context.

Here you can see the homebrew engineering that I'm trying to replace. I'll be getting a new banjo bolt and all new hardware.

The hose on the left goes into the body and still looks good. The lighter grey looking hose on the right needs to go. I just don't see how to remove it, and how to re-attach something new.

The line comes out forward. Why not cut the rubber half way up and put a shunt in with sealant and clamps, a banjo fitting on the end and stop making work.

This looks like the part:
Pelican Parts - Product Information: 911-356-066-08-OEM

I don't believe the rubber hose can be replaced with the line in place.

What you're wanting to do has been done by others. Search "Fuel line replacement, tunnel" or similar. Most will recommend you replace the whole line which really is the correct way but others have accomplished this without problem.

Sorry. I didn't see this in my earlier search. It looks like there is an easy, cheap way or a slightly more expensive and right way.

Replacing fuel lines in an '81 911 SC

I'll post pics regardless...
