boxter wheels for my 84 carrera???

I see some boxter/996 wheels 'twist' for sale on ebay with tires for (what I think) is a good deal. I know the spacer controversy and OK with them, but is this a good fit (17x7/8.5) and quality for an 84?? I cannot afford forged aftermarket rims $2200+tires! I hear the weight is greater but for daily driver and basic autocrossing I would appreciate someone elses opinion.

thanks,
conrad

You can also go for the replica cup wheels. Cheap and prepared for the correct offset without using spacers.

Might want to check into "Boxster" wheels, as well.

Are you talking about the Dyno wheel? Or the stock style?

FWIW, I saw an '86 at a restaurant recently w/ those (17" twist) wheels, car was Meteor grey, looked fantastic and correct for the car, owner said no clearance issues- car was stock height, I think.
