Source for heat shrink wrap in bulk?

I don't want to buy a "kit" with useless sizes and I'd like to cut to the length I want, not someone else's idea of what I want.

Mostly small gauge from LED wiring up 10-12 gauge.

Anyone have a source?

EDIT:
Sorry should have put this in off topic....

Waytek wire is a great place for bullk electrical stuff.

If you live in or near a big city there should be an electronics store (not Radio Shack) that has heat shrink tubing in 3 ft lengths in all sizes. You'll know it when you get there because there will be more nerds than you've ever seen in one place.

In Bakersfield my only option (recently) was Harbor Freight. I was able to buy four sizes in rolls, but the small size for single strands of automotive wire was green. Oh, well...

Everyone else (Pep Boys, AutoZone, Car Quest, Napa, etc.) has a silly selection, in a bag, of 5" long pieces, which did me no good at all.

Thanks, just used up all my small sized wrap wiring in LEDs for my back up lights.....

^ Nice! Do they put enough light out to be effective?

Joe Bob 02-25-2011 05:13 PM

Right behind me, they are quite bright.....not so much to the sides. Four on each side. In keeping with the light weight of the "R" type lenses. I've been told that if I rough up the bulbs with emery paper they would be more visible from the sides.....don't see the need.

DOT regs say that back up lights "can" be yellow, but with my luck I'd have some Rambo de Nimrod that didn't get the memo. To have back lights inside the lenses, I would have had to replace the amber/red and purchase a set of 1/2 white 1/2 amber lenses, rewire the full red receptacle to take LEDs for brake/running lights.

Cheap fix and I'm lazy....:D

You should check OSH and/or Home Depot. Both now carry rolls of heatshrink in 3-4 different diameters (I think they're about 4 ft long).

That's what I tell folks when they're looking for the local PCA meets...

if i'm doing a harness i'll shape it out first then artistically shoot the gun to maintain its shape. Sometimes i'll only reduce its diameter without completely closing it on the wires. It's as close to a factory look as you're gonna find

i bought a bunch of 4' in various sizes after i checked out a small order

waytek also has 75 amp relays in case you're into very heavy duty instead of the 20-30 amp small cubes. The 75s are common on emergency rigs
