SSI install clinic
Well, we had so much fun at Jim (Superman) Christensen's "Engine Drop Clinic" that I thought I'd invite the Pacific N.W. guys over for some more Porsche B.S/beer drinkin'/wrench turnin' fun.
This Saturday, February 9th, commencing at 10:00 A.M. I'll be installing a set of SSI heat exchangers on a 1981 911SC. Those who'd like to come hang out and watch/help are welcome to come. Might even have time to put some of your cars up on the hoist for some show and tell. The address is: 7900 Greenwood Ave. N. Seattle, Wa. Take the 85th St. exit off I-5 and head West. turn left on Greenwood Ave. (it's a ways) go S. on Greenwood Ave 6 blocks. Shop is on left hand (East) side of street Please let me know if you're coming, so I can budget for beer and etc.

I'm definitely in! So, Tyson, you are obviously doing a new muffler too right? It will be interesting to compare the car's exhaust note before and after the SSI's. Also, afterwards we should all go down and heckle JW. He is just down the street!

Are you going to break off the exhaust studs before or during the clinic?

I will try to make it. I would really like to seee this done. We're in the middle of installing floor molding but I'll see if I can get a day pass.
If I can get away, I'll bring a few brews.

I'll be there. . maybe early to get breakfast at that place across the street (where we met pre engine drop clinc). That food was excellent and the waitress was hot!
. . okay, well maybe the waitress wasn't so hot . . .and had a bit of a "Judge Judy" thing going on, but the food was grubbing good. |

Cool! It'll be fun.
The Web-Cam thing is way beyond my capabilities. Hell, I can't even figure out how to post pics yet. ![]() Side note here: The car was already converted to early exhaust before. I'll be replacing the 1973 vintage rusted out heat exchangers with the new SSI's. But you'll still be able to see how the oil lines were modified to work with the new set-up. We can put another stock exhausted SC on the rack next to it for comparisons sake. And yes Freefly, we can definitely harrass John Walker after we finish and have lot's of beer in us. (John is cringing as he's reading this!) We can check out his new project. A 1956 Mercedes 190SL convertible. And of course, the obligitory "drool all over the '73 speedster" ritual. ![]() Our local PCA PNWR region is having it's awards banquet that same evening at Champs Karting in Redmond at 5:00pm, so I'm trying to make that. We should have plenty of time though. Superman, you BETTER be there! ![]()

Sweet! Looks like the same gang, for the most part, will all be there.
So should we do the breakfast thing again at the same place? Say, 9:30 am? (Pete's Eggnest, 1 block South of the shop on the right)

Bill,
I'm the one selling the dark blue seats. I'm going to try to make it down but I may not be able to stay long. If you know about what time you're going, you can check out my seats since we missed each other last weekend. Let me know.

Hope to see some pics. You guys definitely know how to have a good time!
If the weather was better I'd turn the insurance on my SC and check out the party.
