Aftermarket valance

Does anyone have any positive/negative comments on the quality of Rennsport's fiberglass valances? I have been thinking of getting their 930S style front valance for my '80 SC. I have been looking for a 84 -89 style factory valance with fog cutouts, but they are usually damaged or people want ridiculous prices for them. I saw a 930S style valance on eBay recently, but it sold for $215, and it had some cracks. A new one at $225 seems to be a bargain, as long as it will be of decent quality.

Does anyone have a 84 -89 style valance they want to sell?

this is a porsche website/post/board, get your alligator arms down in your pockets and pay the 225.

I can't comment about the quality, but I would choice a fiberglass valance carefully for street use. The first bump, dip or anything you kit will probably crack it. That's probably what happened to the one on ebay.

Personally, I don't care for the 930-valences on 911s, and think the Carrera valence would be a better choice; the protruding fog lights on my 83 have resulted in cracked lenses too often. I know a couple of guys that have swapped, and they say there's no difference in quality and had no problems mounting them. As you already noticed, the price between new and used isn't worth the savings - buy the new one.

I have been to Foreign Intrigue for a PPI and have ordered stuff from them. They have a very good reputation around ME and NH. I was very pleased with the service I got from them.

If its a true style 930 valance it wont fit a narrow body car anyway. The turbo valances are shorter by about 3 inches on the sides where it meets the bottom line of the fender. This is because the chin spoiler on a turbo car goes all the way up to meet the flair.

You know what i'd like to try...
I can't remember if it was georgeK GeorgeM.... it WAS a George though...
This guy took two valances... cut maybe a 4 inch section off of each end of one...then welded them on to the ends of the other valance to essentially, make it "stick" out more...
Obviously there's allot of work involved with that kind of fitting, but it looked killer.

maybe he'll post a picture....

Beautiful green car.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

.......greeeeeen...

Valance

Try this site. www.nrauto.com they have what they call a RRP(Flexible Reinforced Plastic) line of Valances. 903 or for 911 or for 911 that wants to look 930 without the flares etc. Check em out.
I am in the market for a valance and currently pondering to either go the plastic or the steel route. Ruf has Polyurethane if you can afford it.
