Fatty McFatty Three-Spoke Steering Wheel

I recently scored an Alan Gun three-spoke steering wheel recovering kit and used it to re-cover over the existing leather wrap on my cabriolet's steering wheel. I wasn't sure if this would work, but with some testing, I figured the new cover had enough give to enable me to create a double-wrapped wheel.

I had re-stitched the original leather wrap in several places where the old thread had rotted and broken. The old wrap was just OK, so I wanted to see if I could wrap over it and make a thicker wheel (which I tend to favor). I'm really happy with the results.

This job takes a lot of time and patience, but it is definitely a money-saver. Here's the result.

Trouble is, now I want a Fatty McFatty for my targa!

Brian
