Pierburg installation w/PMO's

Can the Pierburg pump generate enough pressure with the return fuel line going back to the fuel tank? I am still trying to get the beast up and running. Before I replace everything under the sun, I'd like to make sure that I'm getting 3.5psi to the carbs. I have the old non adjustable regulator from PMO...

Check part number and compare with specs. Connect the pump directly to a pressure gauge and observe pressure output. If it's +4 psi. a regulator should adjust it, with or without a return line. If it's around 4 psi, pressure drop from pump (at tank) and fuel filter may net 3.5 psi at carbs without a regulator (or return line).

I just put a Pierburg on my car w/o a return line. Works fine with my 46 PMO's. Should be able to just end at carbs if you want to.
