heater blower

Wearied stuff !
I pulled the blower off because of the hideous noise it was making. All turned smooth and no play in the shaft took the shroud off then put 12v across the turninals the thing spun up ok with no screeching cool. all back together, self healing car.
thanks for the replys.
Thanks Steve.

Hope you at least put some lithium grease on the bushings before you re-installed?

What did you have to do to get the blower out?

You need to let us know what year/car you have to get a useful answer.

Most, just disconnect the 2-3 hoses/ducts and a couple screws and unplug it.

Get a Bentley Manual for your car.

Getting the blower out is a bit fidley but not hard.
first I took off the hard plastic houses unplug the terminal
then there are 3 nuts that hold the motor down. the hole
thing comes out, I undid the screws on the duct that runs out of
the fan housing, but no need to do that. it all works well now,
I went out for a drive Sunday with the heater running all still fine.
It looks that the blower motor can be completely re built, my Porsche
parts guy only wanted to sell me a new unit.
My car is 85 euro.

Thanks Steve.

New bearing will set you back about 75 cents when, if it goes again

I recon if you can do it to one you must be able to do to an other,
After all it is only an electric motor.
