Help with fuel pressure results please

I have run into a problem that I can't seem to find using the search function and would like some help with my results.
I have an 82 SC. it has been starting right up on the first crank but running like crap for the first minute. I need to get the revs up right away and once it is warmed up for a minute it will run fine. While going to operating temp the idle will be high 1100-1200 then low 500-600 but drive fine.
I decided to run some test and came back with some very unusual results.
Please let me know what you think it is.
Tested WUR for ohms between connections it was fine 9.3
Checked that power was getting to WUR . Yes 12.56 volts

Engine was stone cold while running cold fuel pressure tests. It was 84 degrees ambient air temp while running tests

Cold pressure closed valve test 5.1 bar
Cold pressure open valve test yikes .9 bar ???
Hooked up power to wur ran warm pressure test 3.5 bar after 40 sec
residual pressure after 10 minutes 1.9 bar.

How can everything be in spec with the glaring exception of the cold pressure test of 0.9 bar.
Please help

Thanks
Steve

When the WUR is cold, there is a lever that indirectly holds the diaphragm open to reduce the cold pressure. You need to raise this lever up to increase the cold pressure. This will mean pulling the WUR, opening it up and pushing the lever pin outward with a c-clamp. Once you have it up, your cold pressure will be high and then you push it back down until you reach the desired pressure. There are lots of threads on here about adjusting the cold pressure on the WUR and even for making it adjustable. It is actually a very simple process.

Hello Steve,What part # WUR do you have?
Porsche used two different ones 80-83, part #0 438 140 072 and 0 438 140 090. If you have the 090 with vacuum controlled full load enrichment, then all tests must be carried out with 500-550mbar of applied vacuum.

OK
I followed the instructions on another thread and made my WUR adjustable

it works great. I can adjust the clod pressure while it's in the car.
One problem though. It is leaking gas from one of the lines. I think it is the input line. When I removed the line there was only a small copper washer underneath and I can not find it in the pelican parts cat. Anyone know if it's suppose to be just a single washer there?
Thanks
Steve

One or a single copper washer.......

Steve,

You need only one good copper washer for the WUR fitting. Go visit your local VW or any foreign car dealerships' service shops. Mechanics usually have many loose assorted copper washers in their tool boxes. I bet they won't even charge you for a couple of these hard to find washers.

So everything is in and buttoned up with no leaks.
My cold pressure is 2.5 bars
My warm pressure after 2 minutes is 3.4
Residual pressure after 20 minutes is 2

The idle hunts up and down over 1000 rpm while warming up. What should I be looking for now?
Thanks

Couple of things on cold hunting in our years. First, check to make sure the 30 deg switch is working and not shorted all of the time. If the switch is bad the lambda computer will be in open loop all of the time and while it warms up the computer keeps cycling the idle via the FV. Then once the system is warm and the mixture is correct the computer calms down and holds the idle. You can see this in computer output on an analog dwell meter.

Also a good way to check this is to unplug the o2 connector and drop it out of the picture during warmup. (if it's stuck in open loop mode that is)

Next it could just be to rich of mixture setting, either via combination of cold control pressure + basic mixture, or one or the other.
