G50 Stress!
Well, still waiting it out to find the problem with my g50 transmission or find a less expensive shop who has the time and interest and will not retire on my repair. Every weekend a try another possible cause for repair, shifter bushings, shifter and coupler adjustment, trans and engine mounts but it still pops out of gear. I know its time to go inside the case, getting stressed for a drive. Just airing my thoughts!!

Not that you were asking for comments......but
Hey cars are expensive, and old cars are more expensive. Even if you find somebody who gives you a low ball price, that either means they are going to cut corners OR you are going to get "The Call" ... It goes like this, "Hey Joe, we've got the transmission apart and unfortunately there is way more wrong than we thought." And then you end up being stuck because the last thing you want is a box full of taken apart transmission. So now you have the low ball price guy, with the honest guy's price. Find somebody you like, look around their shop, talk to a couple of their previous customers, and take the plunge. The other possibility is finding a used G50 and doing a swap. But then you don really know what you've got. ANYWAY Good luck Brad Luecke 1988 911 Carrera Targa (driving project) |
