NASCAR drivers have been in the Rolex 24 since the very beginning of the race. NASCAR drivers have been to 24 Hours of LeMans, to Sebring for the 12 Hours, the Watkins Glen 6 Hours... rally races, hill climbs, etc.
Road racing and NASCAR go pretty far back. NASCAR drivers driving cars for road racing teams predates IMSA, Grand-Am, ALMS, etc. by a very long time. I think it's pretty cool! obin
