So when do I have to rebuild calipers

I just bought a set of 930 calipers...I am wondering if I have to rebuild...

the rings around the pistons look tight and clean...

I will try to post pics...

Well there's never a better time than when they are sitting in your hands. I guess if it were me, I would examine the item closely and note any rust or age. The rubber should be very very solid as well.

The kit is cheap enough and the job easy enough that you might find yourself wondering if you should have after you put them on. I'd go for it for peace of mind. Plus newly repainted calipers look so good...

Probably not. But since you already have them on your workbench and for the negligible cost of a rebuild kit, why not do it anyway?

Having just rebuilt mine, I would suggest sooner vs later. Wait until they "really need it" and it is too late. An easy job turns into a difficult and expensive one....

How about doing a tech article on refurbishment & subsequent fitment to car (with pics if poss). This is an upgrade that interests me!:D
